    The doctors and researchers tasked with finding a cure for the Ebola virus faced a lot of obstacles. As the virus came on suddenly, there was a lot of pressure to find a cure. This being said, treatments must undergo vigorous testing before being used on humans, which delayed the process.

    In addition to this, there were also problems convincing people to be treated. This is because some people living in West Africa at the time doubted the existence of the virus, and also mistrusted medical intervention.

    Those infected with the Ebola virus suffered tremendously, experiencing symptoms such as fever, fatigue, diarrhea, and vomiting. As we might expect, this was an incredibly uncomfortable condition to have. In addition to this, infected people experienced a weakened immune system, making it harder for their bodies to fight against it.

    Humarr Khan was a doctor from Sierra Leonean, who stayed in his home country, assisting efforts to find an Ebola virus cure. Khan worked hard to develop a treatment, but unfortunately became infected himself. Although treatment was available, it hadn't yet been tested on humans and he was denied treatment. As a result, he passed away from the virus.
