Alice's Photograph
Marber places Alice's portrait on display in Anna's show. Alice and Larry speak to one another while looking at it. The imagery represents the years of pain and cruelty that Anna and Dan have inflicted upon Alice, and yet they (Dan and Alice) still plot to continue their affair while she is at the show with Dan.
Aquarium
Marber places Anna and Larry inside an aquarium for their first meeting. The imagery represents the close nature of these human beings to animals, and also their seemingly a few feet of glass away from drowning.
Anna
The end of the play ends in silence as Anna is the only one left, she is alone. The imagery is a stark contrast to the violence of language and the helter skelter nature of the relationships in the play. What's left now is that Anna must learn to be with herself after all of this. She must learn to be able to be okay with herself.
Doctor's Office
Dan comes to Larry's office in order to confront him. The setting of being in a doctor's office creates imagery that relates directly to Larry's surgeon-like peeling away at Dan before he cuts his heart out by telling him that he's slept with Alice.
