    In which ways does Black Beauty find Jerry to be a good master?

    At the fair, Black Beauty can tell that Jerry is a man who is used to horses. He spoke gently and has kind, cheery eyes. Rather than smelling of beer or tobacco, he smells like a hayloft. He is kind, good, and "strong for the right as John Manly." He is so good-tempered that very few can pick a quarrel with him. Once he buys Beauty, he gives him a good feed before riding him home.
