Biography of Gennifer Albin

Gennifer Albin has always had a love of literature and writing. With a Master's degree in English Literature from the University of Missouri, she now lives in Washington State with her family. Her fascination for a surrealist painting by Remedios Varo, Embroidering the Earth's Mantle, gave her the inspiration for Crewel, her first novel. She wrote the first draft of the novel on public library computers during a time in which her family was struggling through the economic crisis. Within a week of submission, Albin received offers of representation from various agents - Crewel would be an immediate hit, becoming the first book in her Crewel World trilogy.

Albin's favorite book as a child was Anne of Green Gables, which partially inspired her decision to give Adelice red hair and a name beginning with the letter A and ending with the letter E. Her current favorite books are those in the Harry Potter series. She decided to write a young adult fiction novel because, after studying literature on a professional level, the genre provided a refreshing escape and reminder of her love of reading.

Albin is now a full-time writer and is the founder of theconnectedmom.com, a blog about positive parenting for mothers. She also is a moderator of a private group for write-at-home moms called WrAHMS.
