Objective:
Students will understand the idea of identity by exploring the main character's identity along with their own.
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.3
Structure:
In the novel, as Ari matures into manhood, he struggles with his identity, who he is and his place in the world. In this activity, the students will be exploring both Ari's identity as well as there own.
Write "Identity" on the board and ask students to come up with a definition for the word. Identity: The qualities that make a person who they are.
