What details can be used to describe Quinn’s life at home

Quin's father was a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan, and throughout the novel Quinn struggles with the responsibilities of being the eldest male in the house. He tries his best to support his little brother Willy and his mother. Quinn sometimes gets in trouble but generally is a consciences young man.
