On page 19, the author has a big gap between paragraphs. The sentence "Now, here's what happens. Pay attention" is pn a line by itself. Why did the author do this?

In my opinion, the author set this section apart because of its importance, as Rashad is telling the reader the truth to what happened. The author uses this to set up the novel's conflict.
