(noun) Refers to William Caxton, the inventor of the printing press.

Model T

(noun) The Ford Model T, an automobile built by Henry Ford's company. It is thought to be the first widely affordable car produced.

(adjective) Free from something others are required to do.

Crenelated

(adjective) To have a structure like the walls of a battlement or a fortress. When the edges/walls of a structure have a design.

Oistrakhs

(noun) A reference to David Fyodorovich Oistrakh, a famous Soviet violinist and violist.

Palpitate

(verb) To shake or tremble; a strong or irregular heartbeat.

"rests its soft machine on ground"

(phrase) when something sits close to the ground. In the poem, it refers to how mist falls to the ground.

"when the earth is television"

(phrase) When the world is dark or covered with something. Here, it refers to how rain resembles radio static.

"time is tied to the wrist or kept in a box"

(phrase) A reference to wristwatches and clocks. The concept of how time is "kept" in the clock (or on its face) to know what time it is.

Apparatus

(noun) A machine or piece of technology with a specific purpose.

(phrase) Dreams. A very foreign way to refer to how humans "read" (drem) about themselves whith "their eyelids shut" (sleep).

(person) A famous American actor, writer, and director. Best know for his role in the silent movie "The Mark of Zorro".

(noun) Penises or objects that resemble male sex organs.

Palaver

(noun) A complex procedure or custom usually involving multiple people.

(noun) The plural form of Gladiolus. A type of lily sometimes known as the 'sword lily'.

Emi-tape

(noun) Electrical tape.

Pomander

(noun) An object (usually a container of some kind) used to create a sweet smell in an area or drawer. The most common type is an orange punctured with cloves.

Tallboy

(noun) A drawer or dresser composed of several vertical drawers. Its name comes from its height. It is also known as a "chest-on-chest".

Matabele

(adjective) A term for the native Ndebele people of Zimbabwe.
