    How is Ivy Peters described in this section? Is Niel being fair in his resentment toward him? Is class important?

    Students should note that Niel already judges Ivy Peters harshly because of his low social standing. All of the "rude" behavior in which Peters engages is explained by his low standing as if Niel first decided that Peters was rude before he did anything. Students can discuss how much of Peters' behavior they find rude and how much of it is Niel being sensitive.
