HoW does Calpurnia relate to Scout later in the novel?

In Chapter Twelve, Calpurnia's role is transformed when she invites Scout into the kitchen. She's been motherly, she's been a disciplinarian, and at this point..... she becomes a companion and mentor.

"You just come right on in the kitchen when you feel lonesome. We'll find lots of things to do in here."
