The novel, Rich Like Us, has two main themes. The first is patriarchy... which is centered around Sonali's relationship with with Ravi, as well as the reasons they broke up. Another of the novel's themes is that of random power and unrestrained tyranny.... the dictatorships that Sonali is completely against. Somali wishes to be free of limitations.
