Answer

anabolism

Work Step by Step

All the synthesis reactions in the body form a division of metabolism called anabolism. Metabolism is composed of two divisions-anabolism and catabolism. Catabolism reactions are energy releasing decomposition reactions. Catabolism reactions take a large molecule and break it apart into smaller molecules and energy. Anabolism the opposite. Anabolism reactions are energy storing composition (synthesis) reactions that take smaller molecules (and energy) and builds larger molecules.
