Answer

phospholipids

Work Step by Step

The amphipathic lipids of cell membranes are called phospholipids. While lipids are hydrophobic, with phospholipids, one fatty acid chain is replaced by a hydrophilic phosphate group. This causes two ends to the phospholipid- a hydrophilic phosphate group and two hydrophobic fatty acid tails. This combination causes the phospholipid to be amphipathic.
