Chapter 10 - Geometry - 10.4 Area and Circumference - Exercise Set 10.4 - Page 649: 58

Answer

The statement makes sense.

Work Step by Step

If a house has \[1500\text{ft}{{\text{.}}^{\text{2}}}\]area and if six bedrooms are to be made, if we take only bedrooms into consideration, each bedroom will have \[250\text{ft}{{\text{.}}^{\text{2}}}\]area, which is enough. But, there will not be only rooms in a mansion. A mansion will also have a living area, kitchen and other utility areas. In which case, the area of rooms will decrease. If it is taken around \[150\text{ft}{{\text{.}}^{\text{2}}}\]per room, the area of 6 rooms will come out to be\[900\text{ft}{{\text{.}}^{\text{2}}}\]. The remaining area will be\[600\text{ft}{{\text{.}}^{\text{2}}}\]. This area can be used for the other utility areas of the mansion. So, this statement makes sense.
