Answer

Vertex: (0, 7) Axis of symmetry: x=0

Work Step by Step

Vertex: First you must find your A, B, and C values of the equation g(x)= x^2+7 The A= 1, B= 0 (because there is no B value), and C=7 To find the x value of the vertex, use the formula x= -B/2a. so.. x= -0/2(1) x= 0/2 x=0. Now plug in the x value that we just found into the x of the equation. g(0)= 0^2+7 g(0)= 0+7 g(0)= 7. so, the vertex is (0,7) The axis of symmetry is the same formula we found the x with. x= -B/2a. x= -0/2(1) x=0/2 x=2 so the axis of symmetry is x=2 In order to graph the equation we must find at least two more points. We can plug in any number to the equation to get the other two points. Here I will use 1 and -1 for the x values. 1^2+7= g(x) 1+7= g(x) 8= g(x) so one point on the graph will be (1, 8) -1^2+7= g(x) 1+7=g(x) 8 = g(x) The other point of the graph is (-1,8)
