At what point did Zeitoun wish he would have left with his family?

I would say at the point when Zeitoun prepares his house for flooding but it not prepared for what he finds outside. He discovers that his entire neighborhood is under nine feet of water. He realizes that the levees surrounding New Orleans must have broken - the clear, clean water is from the sea.
