What is the relationship between Via and Dad?

Via has a close relationship with her father. She notes that he can always make her (and everyone else) laugh. He made her feel better, and when her mother was preoccupied with Auggie, her father was always there.

It was silly stuff, but Dad always managed to make everyone laugh. And sometimes that's all you need to feel better.
