Can we equate the narrator’s voice with Welty’s?

Though Welty was born and raised in Mississippi, she was quick to say that she didn't believe in writing from her own experience..... that she meant for her novels to stand on their own. Unlike many southern writers, her tone is never apologetic, but she does work to portray life realistically.
