What is the What

How does Deng's story illuminate the often formerly colonized people in the modern world.

I don't understand the question.

Basically his story gives people an idea of the living hell many people lived through former colonized countries. In Ethiopia's case, the colonizer was Italy. Most European countries left their colonize in shambles, both physically and politically. The result is often an endless dream of dictators and corrupt governments. If they are not fighting a neighbouring country, the people live under duress or the country is in some type of civil war. Deng's story gives a face and context to these places that help us see, if limited, the reasons people seek safety abroad.
