War Horse

Barbed wire plays an important part in the coming chapters. How is barbed wire different than normal “unbarbed” wire? How might this be especially terrible for horses like Joey?

The barbed wire is pointed and hooked so it bites into the flesh. Horses panic and keep mooving which tears their flesh right off their bodies. Many horses bleed to death or die of internal injuries. It was horrible.
