Who is Goddot?

Godot isn't a character but many people speculate that Godot represents God or some type of omniscient power.

I think each one of us is waiting for something and that thing beckett calls it Godot. It differs from the way you see it. It can be god, freedom,..

I think Godot just represents hope, because Vladimir and Estragon are doing anything to reach a higher power (whether it be God, freedom, salvation, etc.). The 2 men will kill themselves to reach something out of their reach, so Godot is just something that they want, but are unable to have. This shows that their want for "Godot" is inhibiting their normal day-to-day lives, which can be interpreted through the capitalism lens, as well as the religious lense.

GODOT has been understood as a saviour , a rescuer who will rescue Estragon and Vladimir ( the two represents mankind ) from their unchangable existential predicament.
