Objective:

Students will identify and analyze the important characteristics of the settings of the stories.

Structure:

To begin the activity, ask students to close their eyes and imagine they have decided to go on a wonderful vacation to a different planet or dimension. The travel agency has given them a series of brochures to look over. Then ask students, what information do you need to know about a place, especially a new planet, before you travel there? You might even show students some examples of travel brochures over a projector.
