Malvolio is smiling about a sad occassion, "Smilest thou? I sent for thee upon a sad occasion."

He is kissing his hand, "God comfort thee! Why dost thou smile so, and kiss thy hand so oft?"

He talks about Olivia's yellow stockings and her lace, “Remember who commended thy yellow stockings...“And wished to see thee cross-gartered.”
