Judging by the lessons Morrie gives Mitch, his view of Mitch sitting in the car and talking on the phone would be one of wastefulness. Mitch is caught up in the world of business and giving up precious moments of true interaction to sit on a cell phone worrying about deadlines. This would be the exact thing that Morrie will warn against, as it's not a case of real living.
