When a colleague from Brandeis died, Morrie lamented that the man didn't hear all of the wonderful things said about him. 

"What a waste," he said. "All those people saying all those wonderful things, and Irv never got to hear any of it."

Morrie decided to do it differently, picked a date, called the people he loved, and experienced all of the heartfelt moments and memories most people don't get to hear.
