To Kill a Mockingbird inspires a myriad of emotions in its readers, especially readers who don't understand the time period, or what blacks faced before Civil Rights. It's difficult to understand racism, especially for young people today, because you've been brought up so differently than past generations. On the other hand, I think you'd agree it hasn't been erased altogether.... simply look at the news. Regardless, I can't think of anything in the novel that would seriously confuse or upset you. Compared to the movies, games, and reading material popular today.... To Kill a Mockingbird is pretty tame.
