To Kill a Mockingbird

Why is it that Jem starts treating Scout badly whenever he meets Dill?

I noticed a shift in Jems attitude toward Scout as soon as Dill came to visit>

Jem is trying to assert his independence from Scout. He wants to bond with the company of boys rather than his little sister. Calpurnia tries to make Scout feel better by explaining that Jem is going to be a young man soon and he is testing the waters.
