Why does jem call scout miss priss and how does it relate to what we know about Southern women in the 1930's

Jem calls Scout Miss. Priss because he knows Scout would hate that name. Scout does not conform to the streotype of a "propper" Southern lady who wears nice clothes and is delicate like a "Miss. Priss".
