why do you infer that bob dwell attacks scout and gem at the end of the story ?

what might his reasons have been for doing so ?

Bob Ewell felt humiliated by Atticus at the trial. Although bigotry got the best of the jury, everybody in that courtroom knew that Bob Ewell was guilty of the crimes against his daughter. Being a pathetic coward, Bob goes after Atticus's children in some sort of twisted vengeance.
