The items left in a tree:

1. Stick of chewing gum

2. 2 old pennies left in box made from gum wrappers

3. grey twine

4. carved soap dolls (resemble Jem and Scout)

5. whole pack of gum, a tarnished spelling bee medal, a pocket watch that wouldn't work, and an aluminum knife . ( I decided to put the rest in!)

The mad dog incident has nothing to do with the tree. Old Tim Johnson is simply a rabid dog who Atticus shoots from very far away.
