What kind of parent is Atticus Finch?

Atticus is a hands on father, who takes whatever time is necessary to explain the instructions and lessons he teaches his children. He teaches them to be honest, loyal, considerate and empathetic. He expects his children to see the whole picture before passing judgment or making assumptions. He often treats and speaks to them like adults, rather than the children they are.
