Boo is a benevolent soul. Even though the kids badger him, he finds their innocence and kindness. Boo wants to simply be friends, the gifts are his way.

THe soap carvings of Scout and Jem are very personal. He took time with his hands to create them. The other gifts seem in line with what a boy and a girl at that time might find interesting.
