To Kill a Mockingbird

What do Jem and Scout agree to do with the items they find in the tree on the edge of the Radley’s yard? What conclusions about these items does Jem seem to be making without sharing with Scout?

They agree to leave the items for a few days before taking them, just to make sure the gifts are for them. Jem believes the gifts are from Boo, but he isn't sure..... at least until Mr. Radley fills up the hole.
