I think that Scout taught Uncle Jack to not make assumptions based on perceived knowledge. She taught him to listen to both sides of the story. Atticus taught his brother to be honest with kids and to explain exactly what concerns him because kids will respond positively when they feel included rather than merely being talked down to.
