Atticus has caught Jem and Dill trying to deliver a note to Boo Radley. Before Jem can argue his case, he realises that Atticus has outsmarted him with arguments that Jem simply can't refute. That is when Jem yells, “I thought I wanted to be a lawyer but I ain't so sure now!"?
