What can be said about Scout's character that she often questions the children's decisions/actions but joins in anyway?

What can be said about Scout's character that she often questions the children's decisions/actions but joins in anyway?
Scout has the intelligent critical traits of her father yet she is still a child. She often forgets what she should do and goes with her emotion. Still, Scout does fight with boys and judge things with the right intent; she just is not as emotionally and logically evolved as her father is.
