Why does Jem cry at the end of chapter 7?
Jem cried because he is finally strarting to understand Boo's isolation.... it isn't that Boo doesn't want to have interaction, hence, the gifts in the knot-hole, but that he isn't allowed interaction.... the cementing if the hole.
