To Kill a Mockingbird

Think about Scout’s fight with Francis and Atticus’ message to Uncle Jack about children being able to “spot an evasion quicker than adults.” how do these elements connect to the value of having scout, a child, be the narrator of this story?

We see the story primarily through the lens of Scout. Scout notices things that are introspective and intelligent. Despite her precocious personality, Scout has a high emotional and intellectual IQ. We, for example, see this when she breaks up the angry mob in front of the courthouse at night.
