how does the movie capture your emotiions and what do they want the readers to feel?

I thought the 1962 movie of To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic. It is as close a movie can get to what I envisioned in my mind. Gregory Peck, in particular, embodied the character of Atticus. I thought he and sScout really took the movie to a place that Harper Lee intended to go.
