Nathan is Boo Radley’s older brother. He sort of takes over the house after Mr. Radley dies. From Scout's viewpoint Nathan seems very similar to his father. Nathan is not a sympathetic character. He is very much of a hermit following in the footsteps of his whole family. He shoots at whatever he thinks is in his yard at night or at least shoots to scare. More importantly Nathan shows his pathological alienation with society and control over his brother by cementing the knothole in which Boo leaves presents for the children.
