Foreshadowing is the use of hints or clues to suggest what will happen later in literature.

A huge example of foreshadowing is when Atticus says its not time to worry; he says this more than once in the novel. What he means is that even though Bon Ewell has made threats against his family, the time to worry will come when they least expect it.
