Atticus says, "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view..until you climb into his skin and walk around in it" (Chp.3, Pg.30).How is this advice taken or ignored in this chapter?

Scout returns from her first day of school feeling discouraged. Miss. Caroline does not understand her students and Scout attempted to help her. Scout's efforts to help are only reprimanded by Miss. Caroline. Atticus asks Scout to understand the situation from Miss Caroline's point of view: Miss Caroline can't be expected to know what to do with her students when she doesn't know anything about them yet. He asks Scout to look at things from Miss. Caroline's point of view to see how she may struggle with her new job.
