To Build a Fire

London states that the man has "judgement" whereas the dog has "instinct." What does he mean by that?

The man pushes his limits in an attempt to decide what to do and what's best, He doesn't seem to really relaize he's in trouble until it's too late. The dog, however, lives by instinct, and his instint tells him he needs fire and shelter. The man thinks he can conquer nature, and the dog knows it has to live by nature's rules.
