titus andronicus is incomprehensible!

In a lot of ways it ought to be a bit incomprehensible; it's a play about senseless violence...but understand what's going is generally a plus, unfortunately.

If you have time, try watching a production of the play on youtube or renting it from Blockbuster; Shakespeare usually makes a lot more sense if you see it performed. --That's how Shakespeare intended his plays to be viewed, after all. He probably never imagined people *reading* the scripts!--Anyway, following along in your book while the lines are being read or putting on the subtitles is even more helpful. Good luck!
