What peculiar treatment did the doctor give to the writer ? How does it seem to be humrous ?

J.’s doctor, clearly recognizing the man's paranoia, prescribed him beefsteak, beer, walking, and good sleep habits, and urged him not to “stuff up your head with things you don’t understand” (10) This is hmerous because the doctor is imlying that J is a neurotic instead of physically ill.
