Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog)

I read this a very long time ago. I remember it as sort of a buddy road trip story except on a river without the naked girls and alcohol. These are Victorian men after all and yes they did argue. Their arguments, as I recall, were often for comic effect rather than dramatization. Through their arguments, their respective characters were brought out of their stuffy Victorian defences. Yes, we did get to know them better.
