This Is Where It Ends Summary

Tyler Browne decided to drop out of school during his final junior year. His sister, Autumn, has pleaded with him to get back to school at the beginning of the spring semester. Tyler assures his sister he will be going to school again. Principal Trenton has called for the assembly in the auditorium. Autumn is dating Sylvia. Tyler hates Sylvia. When other students are in the assembly, Tomas, Sylvia’s brother, and Fareed get into the principal’s office to find out why Tyler hates Sylvia. As they are searching for files, they hear gunshots prompting Fareed to call 911. In the auditorium, Tyler has locked the doors. He then enters inside, flourishing a gun. Tyler starts shooting at the teachers and students.

Autumn is taken aback when she discovers that her brother is killing innocent students. She has never thought of him as a killer. Sylvia is not shocked at the turn of events because Tyler once assaulted her sexually, accusing her of teaching his sister bad morals. Tyler starts addressing the students about how the community has turned against him. He appears to be in a revenge mission. Autumn loves her brother and does not want him to kill fellow students. Therefore, she starts persuading him to stop shooting the students. As his sister is engaging him, other students start escaping. Autumn tells her brother that nobody hates him.

Nevertheless, Tyler tells his sister that she prefers dancing to him. Resultantly, he compels him to dance. At this point, Tyler discovers that students are escaping. He starts shooting indiscriminately. Tomas, Sylvia, and Fareed decide to go upstairs. Tyler follows them. Tomas vows to confront him as Sylvia and Fareed are fleeing. Tyler shoots him killing him instantly. Autumn goes upstairs in search of Tyler and Sylvia. When she confronts him, Tyler shoots her in the knee before turning the gun to his head and killing himself. Ultimately, a ceremony is held in remembrance of the deceased.
