The whiskey on your breath

Could make a small boy dizzy;

But I hung on like death:

Such waltzing was not easy.

Dad comes home tipsy........ his son junps into his arms,  and they playfully dance.

We romped until the pans

Slid from the kitchen shelf;

My mother’s countenance

Could not unfrown itself.

Mom encroaches on their playtime with a look that says "Enough, you're making a mess."   This is my summary..... what do you think is happening?
