Joe asks the town to vote on a street lamp; a majority votes for it and Joe buys the lamp from Sears. In order to make first lamplighting a real event, Joe arranges a large barbecue and party which is attended by people from miles around........ symbolic? He uses everything to his advantage....... everything is a form of campaigning!
