Why is it that Jennie did not develop the same obsession over the wallpaper that the narrator developed?

* Jennie wasn't ill

* the narrator developed the obsession over the wallpaper because she was ill.

* SInce Jennie and John and the other characters werent ill it didnt have a symbolic meaning to them

I know they are but our teacher wants us to do an essay on that. that was what she gaves us
